Ethical staples small batches, designed by local creatives.
To sum up Kaiho in a nutshell: the reason I decided to bring Kaiho to life is that I wanted to create a platform for artists who don’t yet have one and are still unknown.
Our main focus is to give opportunities and a platform to young artists. By "young artists," I mean independent creators, mostly from non-academic backgrounds, who are just starting their journey or who haven’t yet had that final push.
I wanted to make this production sustainable in many ways—ecologically, ethically—and to involve artists in the process while ensuring they receive fair pay for their work. We offer opportunities for both commissions and steady pay.
Through this platform, we aim to bring these artists into the eyes of the right audience. That’s Kaiho in a nutshell. I’m extremely passionate about this, especially as a non-academic creative myself. I wanted to create opportunities for people no matter the background.
I’m a people-person by nature. I know the creative field is full of people with incredible visions and a beautiful way of seeing the world. However, often what’s missing is the right kind of kickstart. Sometimes, people need that final light to be shed on them from outside.
It’s often easier to recognize someone else’s creative potential from an outside point of view. As a creative, you might doubt your skills, lack the connections or it just feels uneasy to display your work singlehandedly. That’s why we want to help those creatives who are still going unnoticed.
I really hope this works out and I’m excited for what’s yet to come.
